As children grow into teens, life gets busier, and faith conversations sometimes slow down. But this is one of the most important times to keep those conversations going. Why? Because your voice matters. And because God’s Word and God’s world don’t contradict — they work together to reveal His character, wisdom, and love.

We’re here to equip you with simple, thoughtful, and engaging conversation prompts you can use during everyday moments: in the car, at the dinner table, while walking the dog, or stargazing in the backyard.

Welcome to Wonderfully Made Science’s Conversation Starters — a place for parents to rediscover the joy of meaningful conversations with their middle and high school students about God’s truth, revealed through His Word and His world.

Conversation Starters:

Where Science Meets Faith

Why This Matters

As teens begin asking deeper questions about life, purpose, and the world around them, many turn to culture, media, and peers for answers. But you, as a parent, are still one of the most powerful influences in their lives.

Faith isn’t meant to be left behind in childhood. It grows, stretches, and deepens alongside a child’s expanding mind. Connecting faith to real-world science reminds teens that God is not only the Creator of the universe but also deeply personal and interested in their everyday experiences.

This page exists to help you:

✅ Build confidence in starting meaningful faith conversations
✅ Connect God’s Word to discoveries in nature and science
✅ Encourage teens to see science as a way to worship, not a reason to doubt
✅ Keep the lines of communication open as your child’s questions mature

🌌 How to Use Conversation Starters

Conversation starters include:

👉 A simple question or statement to spark conversation

👉 A Bible verse or thought that connects to the topic

👉 A follow-up idea or reflection prompt

💬 Keep the Conversation Going

Don’t be afraid of hard questions. Teens respect authenticity. If you don’t know an answer, say so — and look for it together. Use science not as a challenge to faith, but as a doorway into it.

Encourage curiosity. Celebrate discoveries. And most of all, remind your teen that God is big enough for our biggest questions.

💬 A Few Starters to Try Today

There are more stars in the sky than grains of sand on every beach on earth.

God made each star, gave it a name, and placed it right where it belongs.

Psalm 147:4 says, "He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name."

Ask your kids: “If God knows every star by name, what does that say about how well He knows and loves you?”
